What does CB-VET mean for SEE-GL?
The SEE-GL Project (Skills and Employment Enhancement in Green Logistics) is a great example of a CB VET-supported initiative that shows the impact of capacity-building in VET. This project, that will last from January 2025 to December 2026, focuses on transforming vocational education in the transport logistics sector across the Western Balkans. It will bed one through incorporating Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles. SEE-GL aligns closely with CB VET’s objectives since the specialized curriculum will be developed for sustainable logistics, strengthening the capacity of VET providers, and ensuring that training programs meet European and international standards. The project fosters collaborative work between five organizations from Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, and Montenegro. In that way, this project implements CB VET’s commitment to international cooperation in vocational education. A key component of SEE-GL is the development of updated teaching materials and methodologies that integrate ESG principles in transport logistics. This supports CB VET’s broader mission of ensuring that VET institutions remain responsive to labor market demands. By equipping educators with the necessary skills through workshops and training sessions, SEE-GL contributes to professional development, another essential goal of CB VET. Furthermore, the project’s creation of a digital learning platform aligns with CB VET’s emphasis on accessibility and innovation in education. This platform will complement the Regional ESG Educational Hubs, making learning resources available to students and professionals regardless of their location, thus expanding educational opportunities in the region.
SEE-GL’s impact directly contributes to sustainable socio-economic growth by preparing professionals for careers in green logistics. Green logistics is an emerging field crucial for environmental sustainability. By overlapping with CB VET’s vision, SEE-GL show san example how targeted capacity-building projects can modernize VET systems, enhance employability, and drive sustainable development.
What is CB-VET?
The Capacity Building in Vocational Education and Training (CB-VET) initiative promotes international collaboration through multilateral partnerships among organizations involved in vocational education and training (VET). These partnerships include institutions from EU Member States, third countries associated with the Erasmus+ programme, and third countries not associated with the programme. CB VET aims to strengthen VET institutions and systems, particularly in third countries not associated with Erasmus+, by enhancing their relevance, accessibility, and responsiveness to labor market and societal needs. By doing so, the initiative supports the development of skilled workforces, fosters innovation, and contributes to sustainable socio-economic growth in these regions. Projects under CB VET focus on capacity-building activities that improve training quality, develop modern curricula, and integrate innovative teaching methods, including digital tools and work-based learning approaches. Additionally, they support the professional development of educators, promote inclusive and equitable learning opportunities, and encourage cooperation between VET institutions, businesses, and policymakers.
A key aspect of the initiative is fostering institutional partnerships that drive systemic reforms, align VET programs with industry demands, and facilitate knowledge exchange between European and international stakeholders. Through these collaborations, CB VET helps bridge skill gaps, supports entrepreneurship, and strengthens local economies by equipping learners with competencies relevant to evolving job markets. Ultimately, CB VET contributes to the modernization and internationalization of VET systems, ensuring they become more adaptable to global challenges. By prioritizing sustainability and inclusivity, the initiative not only enhances educational opportunities but also empowers individuals and communities, driving long-term economic and social development in third countries not associated with the Erasmus+ programme.
